3 months

On December 23 we celebrated 1 quarter of a year with the babies!

They are doing so great.  They are sleeping at least 7 hours before they wake up for a feeding and there have been nights when they've gone 8 or 9 hours.  There was one night that they slept ELEVEN hours!  It was amazing!!!

Emily

We should have put Emily on soy milk weeks ago!  She still has gas sometimes, but she is such a happy baby now!  She smiles and laughs and is so fun to play with.  When she starts screaming we give her Mylicon and within a few minutes she is all better.  It's amazing.  We finally figured out how to help her and it makes me so happy that she's finally happy!  She is starting to reach her arms out to be held.  It is so cute!  She has the strongest neck and can sit up in her Bumbo chair for 45 minutes.  She drinks 4 or 5 ounces every 3 hours and is getting so big!  Emily has been chewing on her hands and drooling a lot.  We thought she might be teething but the doctor said she shouldn't have any teeth coming through until about 6 months.  She said Emily is probably just drooling because she sits up so much so the saliva comes out of her mouth rather than down her throat. She sometimes sits and moves her fingers around and stares at them.  She is so cute!

Looking at her daddy.  She looks at him like she is totally in love anytime he's around.  It's very cute!

She loves watching Ellen just like me!

She sleeps in very odd positions

Ella

Ella is the smallest baby because she went about a month only drinking 3 ounces at every feeding.  We weren't quite sure why she stopped drinking 4 ounces, but the pediatrician said that as long as she's happy, we shouldn't worry about it.  After a month of having to feed her for 45 minutes and her using the bottle as a pacifier, I was convinced that it was the bottle nipple and we had to find one that she would take.  At one particular feeding we fed her for 30 minutes and she only took 1 ounce.  I went and found every kind of bottle we had in the kitchen and none of them worked until we tried a Playtex vent aire bottle.  It has this tiny bottle nipple, but I washed it and put her milk in it and she finished the remaining 3 ounces of her feeding in about 10 minutes.  Now we use those bottles for her and she finishes all of her feedings.  It was a lot easier when they all had the same bottle, but we have to do what we have to do to get her to eat!  She is still happy and smiley!  She likes to wake up in the middle of the night and talk.  A few times every night I wake up to babbling, look over at the monitor and see Ella with her feet up in the air talking away! She goes back to sleep on her own, but it's very cute to watch her.  She has been smirking at me lately and she's very moody.  There are times when she is happy and smiling and other times when she just screams and turns so red.  Sometimes she wants to be held, and other times she wants to be left alone.  One day she was lying on the floor and I went and sat next to her and started reading a book to her.  She started screaming.  I walked away and she was quiet again.  15 minutes later she was crying to be held!  She is stubborn and sometimes just wants to be alone!

Fist bump with Daddy

We realized there was a real pocket on her skinny jeans, so we put stuff in it, like a pacifier...

And a tiny remote

Looking at herself in the mirror

She was supposed to be napping with brother and sister, but decided that I didn't really need to do laundry or make bottles, I needed to play with her instead.

Trying to be Miley

She was SO over her 3 month photo shoot

I have no idea why she was sleeping with her finger in her ear...

This is when I asked Mark to bring me an outfit for Ella...  She seemed to like not matching!

Tripp

This guy is still just adorable!  He was really fussy for awhile and at least twice a day he would spit up about half of his bottle through his nose.  I called the pediatrician and she said it sounded like reflux.  She gave us Zantac and it helped for about 2 days, then started up again.  I called to see if maybe the dose was wrong since he's gained weight since he was last at the doctor.  They told me to bring him in to be weighed and to have the doctor check him out.  He weighs 14 pounds 7 ounces!  She showed me where he was on the premature growth chart and he was off the chart, above the 100th percentile! She pulled up his weight on the regular full term infant growth chart and he is in the 75th percentile, which she says is still pretty impressive!  So basically, he's a giant!  She said she prescribed the medicine assuming he had gained weight since his 6 week check up, but she didn't think he'd gained that much, so she increased the dose.  If the new dose doesn't work, she told me to try giving him Emily's soy formula to see if that helps him.  We still try that in a few days if he doesn't get better.  He is getting funnier and happier.  This weekend I was holding him and he was staring at his feet, talking and laughing for about 10 minutes.  I had no idea what he was saying to his feet or why it was so funny, but it was adorable!

This is another one of Mark's outfits from when he was a baby.  Tripp did not like it...

This picture shows how big his chin dimple is

He LOVES the birds on the bouncer!  He stares at them, talks to them, smiles and makes faces at the birds!

We have play time in the evenings... He was too tired

We dressed him as a girl so that Ainsley would hold him

Tripp and Ella watching Baby Einstein.  They had been in the Bumbos for awhile so they were both getting tired!

Santa stopped by on a fire truck one morning!  (Santa is my father in law, Mark Sr!)

Then we got all bundled up to go see that same Santa drive by on the fire truck that night.

Me and the girls

The girls had matching little onesies that my Aunt bought them

Tripp and Ella playing

Emily and Tripp were sitting with Mark, so we put Ella on top of them.  They didn't mind!

When we were registering for baby stuff when I was pregnant, Mark said that all we need are white onesies because they don't need different colors.  This was the day we took their 3 month pictures so they were all wearing white onesies.  Mark calls this "The Beyer family uniform."  We like to blend in lol

Happy babies in the morning

We celebrated our first Christmas with the babies and it was so fun!  Santa knew that they were only 3 months old and didn't know what Christmas was so he brought them cloth diapers because they needed more.  I was excited, they couldn't have cared less!  We traveled to see both of our families and it was a hectic day but so fun!  I had to pack 2 diaper bags, one of which held 16 bottles and 2 cans of formula!  It was crazy.  The babies did great and got so many clothes and toys.  We think our families bought every toy that Bright Starts makes.
