Super annoying mom post

First off, let me just say that I am not the kind of mom who goes around telling anyone and everyone how smart her kids are.  Mark and I talk privately about our little geniuses and we say it to our moms and stuff, but for the most part, I try to stay humble (aside from joking with my friends).  However, this is my blog about my children and when they're teenagers who are making me pull out my hair, I want to be able to read this and remember how smart and sweet they used to be.  Therefore, here are all of the amazing things that my kids do (some might be normal toddler things, but I think they're really smart)!

I read that at 18 months, kids should be able to recognize and point to 4 body parts.  My kids are a few days shy of 17 months and when asked, they can show you their:
Head
Eyes
Ears
Nose
Mouth
Tongue (they stick it out to show you)
Hair (they rub the top of their heads)
Hands
Belly button
Feet
Toes
That's 11 body parts!

They say "thank you" when you hand them something.  Ok, Tripp kind of grunts but he means "thank you!"

They love to hold hands. Most of the times just an adult's hand, but sometimes they hold each other's hands and my heart explodes.

I can say the word "gentle" and they start to pet the dog/cat/person that is next to them.

Ella is starting to pick up on saying "bless you" when someone sneezes. She doesn't always say it, but when she does I clap and tell her how sweet she is.

They flip through books and make sounds as if they're reading.

When we say "the stars at night... Are big and bright..." They clap their hands!  Then we sing "deep in the heart of Texas!"

They can put puzzle pieces in the right places!  A lot of times we have to turn the piece to help them fit it in, but they know the right spot it goes in!

When Tripp has poop, he pulls on his diaper to let us know.  This morning he took it a step further and climbed onto the sofa and laid down just like I lay them for diaper changes.  He was trying to tell me to change his diaper!

They share (sometimes).  When they are eating I can say, "Will you give Sissy/Bubba a bite?" And most of the time they do it.  When I praise them, they want to share bites with everyone and it's so sweet!

When we watch Little Einsteins, the characters have to "pat" to give their rocket power.  My kids pat their laps with the character and say "pat pat pat pat pat pat." Then, along with the characters, they raise their arms and say "blast off!"

That's all I can think of right now.  I know what you're thinking: those Beyer kids are the smartest kids in the whole wide world!  ...and I totally agree! :)
