I'm going to try to update this more often. The kids are so active and I find myself exhausted most days, so writing the chaos down usually isn't on my list of priorities, but I need to work on that. They are getting so big and doing so much that I need to remember it all! So here it goes...
Emily thinks she is an adult. She tells her siblings "no" and just wants to sit on the sofa with me and watch TV. She does not eat breakfast, but drinks lots of milk. She loves to cuddle and give hugs and kisses. When she hugs you she says "Ohhhhhhhhhh" as if she knows she is the sweetest little thing ever. She loves to open the front door when it isn't locked and try to run outside (the only times it's unlocked are when I'm checking the mail or Mark has just pulled into the driveway, so she's safe!). Emily might have a slight addiction to TV, but also loves to play outside any time she can. She sits at the top of the slide and says "Two, two, wheeeeeee" as she slides down. She makes us laugh daily with her hilarious personality! If you have a book in your hand, she will sit on your lap and not move until you're done reading. We have one book about God that is very long, but she will sit there and listen to the whole thing while her siblings run around and try to shove shorter books in your face to read. Emily sings and dances and is so loving toward her brother and sister. I tell her daily how silly she is and she smiles so big that her eyes close whenever I say it! She loves to talk and says "Thank you" any time someone hands her something. Emily can often be found sitting on the floor flipping through a book "reading" it, complete with change of tone and laughter!
Ella, Ella, Ella... There is a quote by Shakespeare that goes "Though she be but little, she is fierce!" That sums up Ella! She glares at you, raises one eyebrow at you, hits you, bites you, whatever she needs to do to get you to do what she wants. She is so tiny but her siblings know not to mess with her. When her toy is stolen a tantrum ensues that can only be stopped by giving her back what was stolen and holding her while taking deep breaths to remind her to breathe. The tantrums aren't just when her toy is stolen, though. If someone has something that she wants, if I try to put her hair in a ponytail, change her diaper, put her shirt on her, or make her come inside when she isn't ready, she throws herself on the ground and screams. Luckily it hasn't happened in a public place yet but I'm sure it will at some point! Recently she accidentally bit Mark because she got excited. He said "ow" and jumped back. She lost it! She ran to me and just cried and cried. When she finally calmed down she just glared at him from across the room! It was intense. When she isn't screaming or fighting, she is a very happy baby. She loves to be chased around the house, playing ring around the rosie, head shoulders knees and toes, doing puzzles, and cuddling with Mark and me. We recently took her out to lunch, just Ella, Mark and me, and she seemed lost without her siblings. She was looking around for them for awhile before she realized it was just the three of us. Then she got chicken nuggets and french fries and totally forgot about them! This girl loves food! Any food. She will try almost anything and we often refer to her as a bottomless pit because she can just eat and eat and eat. It's so funny that she's the smallest but eats way more than the other two! Ella repeats everything! I am not proud of it, but she said "hot damn" recently while I was singing Bruno Mars. Whoops! Not only does she repeat, but she is very good at associating words with objects. You can point to things and she will name them. Things like cat, banana, milk, dog, cow, daddy. She is a very smart little girl! We just need to work on that attitude of hers! Some friends of mine told me that she's sassy like me, which was a shock because I don't consider myself sassy at all!
Tripp is such a little man. He wants to help Mark fix things and is so curious about how things are made. When handed a new toy, he usually flips it over to see what's on the bottom and starts to poke at different pieces to see what they do. Although he still doesn't have many words, he is a very smart little boy. He loves to do puzzles and makes me coffee using their little play kitchen every single day. He takes the coffee pot, puts it in a coffee mug, adds some milk from the plastic carton, then hands it to me. I must then drink from it and tell him how yummy it is. I'm not sure how he figured out the coffee pot since we have a Keurig, but he did and he loves it! He also loves to cook anything using the play kitchen. He will take a skillet or a pot and put something in it to cook. This could be a plastic pickle, a doll shoe, or a puzzle piece, but he cooks it and then take a bite and says "mmmmmm." He cracks me up! Tripp is repeating more words and he has more words to use now, along with some signs that we've taught him. He can say no no, ant, walrus (he got those last two from books), and Laina (my younger sister). If we ask him for sweet eyes he bats his eyes at us. It's the cutest thing ever! He climbs onto the sofa and then looks around and waits for us to notice, because he knows he's not supposed to be up there! He giggles so loud once you notice and ask him what he's doing. He knows which sister is Emily and which sister is Ella and can bring them each things when you ask him to ("Bring this cup to Emily"). He does not like having his toys stolen but lets the girls steal them, anyway. He loves the dogs and just wants to ride Edward. Unfortunately Edward refuses!
That is what they are doing currently. Each day is so much more fun than the one before it. Someone learns something new every single day (sometimes it's me) and they are growing and developing into little people! I wish I could share pictures, but the app still isn't letting me. I will look into fixing that soon!
