Emily
Emily weighs 22 pounds 13 ounces. She is a handful! She is loud, in charge and likes to hear us say "no no." In the evening when Mark lowers the blinds, she crawls to them as fast as she can, smiling her big Emily smile, to touch them. She knows she isn't supposed to touch the blinds so it's a game to her. We tell her "no no Emily," and she giggles while she touches them again. She did this at my mom's house recently. My mom had pictures on end tables and we told Emily not to touch them a few times. It was a fun game for her to get to those end tables. She would laugh the whole time she was moving toward them until we stopped her. She loved it! She is still our loud, vocal baby. She takes the longest to go to sleep and often steals Ella's security blanket so she can cuddle with it. I know she has it when Ella cries for about 5 minutes because she won't go to sleep without her blanket. I have to go in and take it from Emily's hand to get Ella to go to sleep. This is at every nap and bedtime! Emily loves to lick things. It's very gross. This includes the floor, my leg, the garbage can, the windows, the door knobs on the kitchen cabinets, the refrigerator, bathtub, anything that she can get to! Emily walks with her push toy, or a kitchen table chair if it's there, and she thinks she is so cool when she does! She has her chin up high and smiles her big smile to make sure everyone is watching her walk. She has this new face she does where she puckers her lips and scrunches her nose up. Her goal is always to get your attention and she usually succeeds! She is still fake coughing and fake crying to make sure people look at her! She is a very interesting little girl who teaches me daily that I have to be patient and not freak out when she does stuff! Emily now has 7 teeth, 4 on the bottom and 3 on the top.
Emily selfies are the best! She gets so excited when she sees herself!
She shoved a whole wagon wheel in her mouth. She couldn't even chew because it took up her entire mouth. Of course, that didn't stop her from trying to put more snacks in her mouth with the wagon wheel!
Cousin Ainsley and Emily
After a nap
She likes to eat her snacks and then rub the crumbs all over her face and hair
I am attempting to put shoes on them daily so that they get used to them and will wear them once they start walking. Emily spends her time in shoes trying to pull them off. She won't stand up in them!
A snapshot of my glamorous life. Sometimes Emily needs to sit down and rest. She doesn't care if it's on my head, she just needs to rest. Right after this, she put her foot on my face to try to boost herself onto the sofa.
Ella
Ella weighs 20 pounds 13 ounces. She has been very feisty lately! She gets attached to a toy and freaks out if another baby has it. She will pin her brother or sister down to get her toy. She is still very funny. She makes funny faces and says "mama" with her mouth in a big O shape. She is very dramatic when she says mama! Ella is the most independent. She plays all by herself most of the time. She is either alone in a corner playing or she is on top of me playing! Occasionally she wants to play with her siblings and they welcome her, but for the most part she does her own thing! She rolls around in her crib while going to sleep waving her elephant security blanket around and talking to it. It's very cute! When music comes on Ella dances! She bounces up and down and moves her arms. It's so funny! One day Ella was very tired so she crawled into the nursery and sat in front of her crib. My mom followed her and put her in her crib, where she went to sleep! Ella can also stand all by herself. She is getting better and better every single day. She can stand for 20 seconds and even moves her arms around while standing! She will be walking soon :) Ella loves her cousin Gwen. She recently came over to play and Ella kept giving her kisses and rolling a ball to her- things she NEVER does with her brother and sister! Ella still only has 2 bottom teeth!
Hair up!
Ella has been doing this thing where if her toy is stolen, she will pin whoever (Emily) stole it down so she can get it back. I'm trying to let them work out their disagreements as much as possible (small things of course) and it's going well except when Ella does this. She doesn't hurt the others and Emily laughs every time Ella does it to her so I don't interfere unless someone cries. Here are 3 pictures of that!
This is everyone's new favorite toy! A xylophone!
Tripp
My sweet boy! Tripp weighs 22 pounds 3 ounces. This guy is the cutest boy I've ever seen. He makes sweet eyes at us and does this squinty eye thing when he's trying to be cute. He is the most laid back now days and very funny. He LOVES to be tickled! He loves other men. When Mark comes home, or when our dads come over, he grunts at them. It so funny! He doesn't grunt at me, but it's like he knows when the person holding him is a man! He still has 8 teeth and loves his mama :) Tripp loves books. His favorite is Brown Bear. He gets so excited when we start reading that book! He is also completely obsessed with (sorry) poop! One morning I woke up and he had taken his diaper off, pooped in his crib, the smeared it everywhere (I won't make you look at the picture)! When I'm changing his diapers he reaches down pretty much every time for a handful of his poop. He giggles when he toots and is such a boy! I don't know where he picked all of this up, but he didn't get it from his daddy! He recently started waving bye bye and he is so proud of himself every time he does it! He is a hilarious little boy who makes me laugh constantly!
This is my little guy trying to tell Emily that he needs BOTH push toys and she can't have one.
One of his favorite things to do is wait for daddy to come home from work. Not only does he get to see daddy, but this is the only time I move the baby gate and they have access to the front entrance, which has this mirror that he plays with!
Examining the wheel
He discovered that Mickey was on his shirt so he spent a lot of the day like this, staring at Mickey.
About to grab the computer in our bedroom. We have since childproofed this room! (Those are Ella's chubby feet)
I gave him at least 3 cookies this day. He wanted more. He was fake crying and then opening his eyes to make sure I was looking at him. Please notice that he has 2 half-eaten cookies in his bib.
Tripp loves the cat. The cat does not love Tripp. When he pets her she swats at him. One day she actually got him. It hasn't taught him a lesson or anything. He still tries to pet her every time he sees her!
This was the first time I switched them to organic snacks. He was not interested. He was singing to the ceiling.
Tripp sleeps with his security blanket in his mouth. When he wakes up he still has it hanging from his lips. He loves this thing! I'm so glad he seems to have such an attachment to the blanket that Mark picked out for him and the first thing we ever gave him while he was still in the NICU.
Tripp climbs! He wanted the cable box so badly, he pushed this plastic kitchen up to the gate, climbed on it and reached the box! I feel like he's a tiny genius.
I gave Tripp bread one night, then he expected Mark to give him bread, but he didn't. That didn't stop him from staring his daddy's plate down!
After 11 months of wondering and having no clue who Tripp looks like, we've figured it out! A few of Mark's relatives have mentioned that he looks like Mark's Pawpaw (his paternal grandfather). Nana (Mark's grandma) found a picture of him as a child. It looks just like Tripp!

Me with my 11 month old babies!
Me with the girlies again. They usually wake up at the same time so we hang out until Tripp gets up.
They LOVE their daddy!
This is Tripp, Gwen, Emily and Ella waiting for Mimi and Pappy to get to our house to celebrate both of their birthdays!
They found the diaper bag and liked this bag we got when we took Emily to the hospital. There was never any vomit in this bag! It's clean :)
My favorite shoes happen to be their favorite shoes, too. There are flowers with little beads that they love to touch.
This month my Granny lost her battle with cancer. That day, I dressed the babies in their "Geaux Saints" shirts that she had made for them last year. Even though they were a little tight, they loved them. We will really miss Granny
We got caught in the rain at Target one day so we sat at Starbucks and they ate snacks. A few people told me how well behaved they are! That is a great compliment to hear!!!
We went to visit Mark at work and to meet his coworkers. The babies were not very friendly but Ella let people hold her! They are at the age when stranger awareness is getting bad!
While we were at the shower Tripp got to hang out with daddy and Pawpaw and do man things. They went to Academy and played with the cat at Pawpaw's house.
The next weekend I took Ella to a baby shower, just the 2 of us! She liked the infant seat that is now in Mark's car.
That was their 11th month! My next post should be about their big birthday party!
