Ella is usually our shy, laid back, clingy baby who doesn't like strangers. That all changed when she was the only baby yesterday. She was laughing with the doctor and being very funny. She wanted to help the doctor hold the light stick that she was using to look at Ella's pupils, she burped in the doctor's face and then laughed really loud, and was just being goofy the whole time. After the appointment we went to the building next door because my mom was there doing a training class or something. My mom brought Ella into a room filled with women and Ella let these women, she'd never met, hold her! She was like a totally different baby without her brother and sister around. When she wasn't being a total goof, she sat quietly in her stroller and people watched with me. She is definitely my child!

Ella's ophthalmology follow up
Yesterday I took Ella in to follow up with the ophthalmologist. I was told again that she is perfectly fine and was just born with a wonky pupil. Wonky is my word. The doctor said "it's physiological." The good news is it seems to be getting better. 2 months ago she measured her pupils and there was a 2mm difference in the light and in the dark. Yesterday there was only a 1mm difference. As we were leaving she told me to bring all 3 babies to get their eyes checked when they're 2 years old.

9 months
9 months! That seems so old, but that's where we are :) We went to the doctor and everyone is doing great! We need to work on waving Bye Bye and clapping. We will also start working with sippy cups!
Here they are at their 9 month check up. They aren't laying on the table anymore, they're sitting like big kids!
Emily
Emily weighs 21 pounds 9 ounces (92%) and is 28.5 inches long (82%)
Emily is the happiest little girl! She smiles and shows off her 2 little teeth constantly! She still doesn't have anymore teeth, just the 2 bottom ones. She fake coughs and fake cries. She is starting to crawl. She took her first crawling "steps" on June 20. She still army crawls when she needs to get somewhere quickly (ok, to beat brother or sister to a toy), but when she has time she goes slowly and tries to crawl on her hands and knees. She talks constantly. I'm pretty sure once she starts actually talking she will never stop. We have "conversations" (I have to talk to someone during the day) and we go back and forth with sounds. After I imitate her sounds a few times I start making my own sounds (mama, dada) to get her to repeat those. So far she says "mama" and that's it. When I try to get her to say dada she laughs really loud. She is a funny girl!
Happy girl!
When she's in a walker, she walks over to the changing table, grabs a diaper, and then rolls around with it, usually dropping it somewhere in the hallway for me to find later.
Emily with Daddy, who loves the floral print diaper bag!
Ella
Ella weighs 20 pounds 4 ounces (81%) and is 27.25 inches long (34%)
Ella is still a funny, moody, adorable little chunker. She can go from laughing to looking at you with a super serious face in seconds. She got her first tooth on June 21! She was fussy all evening at my Aunt's house and once we got home. We put them to bed and then started watching a movie, but 45 minutes into the movie she started screaming. We took her out of the nursery and she was so upset! I put my finger in her mouth and sure enough there was a little tooth on the bottom! I was so excited! She's been teething for about 5 months and she finally has a tooth! We gave her some Tylenol and she went right back to sleep. Ella started crawling on June 18. She tried for so long and would get SO frustrated that she would put her face in the foam mats of the playpen and just cry. It was so sad. When she finally figured it out she got so excited she ran face first into some toy bongos. She didn't cry, though. She looked up with a huge smile and then kept smiling after that with her red cheek! She's says mama and dada. She loves Misha the cat and always wants to pet her! Ella does not like strangers or loud noises. She cries and wants me or Mark to hold her. She's a little clingy but that's ok :)
Ella loves when you blow her hair. Then it looks like this!
One night she threw up on her security blanket and wouldn't go to sleep. She kept reaching around looking for it. I gave her a rag from the bathroom and she went right to sleep! She still had it in her hand in the morning
One day she took a nap sleeping on her hand. It was very cute, but when she woke up she had an imprint of her hand and fingernails on her face!
Ella LOVES Misha the cat. She gets so excited when she sees her and will sit here and stare at her in her walker!
Ella's last picture with smooth gums. A few hours after this, she woke up screaming and had a little tooth!
Here is a bonus from her 9 month pictures. She can clap now and she got very excited and started clapping!
Tripp
Tripp is just a ball of energy. A wiggly, crawling, won't keep still little ball of energy! He gets in to everything and wants to examine it all. Sometimes we let him on the floor outside of the playpen and he crawls over to the TV stand, tries to get everything off of it (maybe we should baby-proof), and when we stop him, he smiles, and crawls over to the fire place. We pull him away from there and he crawls over to the sofa and pulls himself up so he can get the remote and chew on it. He's constantly moving and it's like a game of chase. He tries to chase the animals but can never catch them, so he stops and looks around to see what else he can get into. The little springy door stoppers are becoming a quick favorite, or the trash cans. I removed the batteries and gave him a remote control that went to an old DVD player, so that is his favorite playpen toy. He crawls onto his sisters to get whatever toy they have, pulls Ella's hair, pushes their faces into the floor and tries to use their bodies to help him pull up. Anytime I am in the playpen with them, he pulls up on me the whole time. He wants to stand and touch your face and chew on your clothes. He is a MESS! He is so funny and loves to be tickled and sung to. He has 4 bottom teeth and 3 top teeth and likes to bite my legs. He keeps me very busy during the day! We stopped giving him Zantac and he is doing great! No spitting up! He is still drinking half soy formula and half regular to ease his tummy, but he is doing really well.
His faces are funny :)
He is so wiggly and hard to change, this is the easiest way to do it. He will not stay on his back unless he's being held down. He doesn't seem to mind!
The first time we ever let him crawl freely in the house (not just in the playpen), he went straight for the cat door. He can't get through it, but he loved opening and closing it!
He is very precious when he sleeps. He always has his security blanket in his hand and this day he actually fell asleep under the blanket instead of kicking and tossing it everywhere. He must've been very tired!
We have a shade over their window to keep the sun out while they nap. He did not want to nap so he kept pulling it out, letting lots of sunlight in and bugging Emily
Tripp's new Texans hat
He needed to be as close to the bubbles as possible
Standing up in the car. He can climb out of it now!
New schedule
We started a 4 hour eating schedule and we are loving it! Well, I'm loving it :) we went from five feedings a day to four, which for me actually cut out 3 whole feedings! The babies have adjusted really well. They get more in their bottles now, but they don't have a problem with it. We also went from our days being from 8 am-8 pm to our days being from 7 am to 7 pm. They have adjusted well to this, too. After we put them to sleep it's still daylight, but they don't know that :) I was able to go visit my friend Courtney and her new baby one night after they were asleep. It was very nice! What they haven't adjusted to is naps with this 4 hour schedule. I go by their sleepy cues, so they go down around 9 am and sleep until 9:45-10:00. Then they eat at 11, go down for another nap around 12:30 or 1 and usually sleep until 2:30-3:00. Then they are up for 4 hours before bedtime so they get very tired, but we deal with the fussiness! Overall, I'm really liking the new schedule!
Group pictures
Emily, Tripp, Ella and me 2 days before they turned 9 months :)
The girls have been doing this thing where they just stare at each other. It is so adorable!
On Memorial Day we went to my sister in law, Rachel's, house. Colton and Ainsley set up a train track for the babies (which they loved) and then Ainsley cooked for them.
Emily didn't get the concept of fake food, so she tried to eat the plate
This is Emily and Tripp holding Edwards leash during a walk. They did a really good job and did not let go!
Emily takes her role as big sister very seriously. I kept telling Tripp to stay on the blanket, but he's a baby, he doesn't know English, so he kept trying. That's when Emily stepped in and would not let him off of the blanket! It was very funny!
These cute outfits were sent by Zia all the way from Italy. We wanted to get a cute picture to send her. This was the best one
Tripp sat in Emily's lap to steal this rattle, but she was not letting it happen! She continued to chew on it while he fought her. There is never a dull moment here!
They got an early birthday present, a triplet wagon! They love it!
Tripp and Emily trying to play with the car seat box from their walkers
Here they are in their new big kid car seats! Not the best picture, I know, but it's hard to get a good one in the back seat of the van!
We walked to the park and ate yogurt melts in the grass. They loved it! I see lots of picnics in our future! (Although their favorite part was watching the cars drive by)
They have a weird obsession with empty water bottles. While we're drinking the water bottle, they stare at it. Once we're done, we give it to them and they will fight over a water bottle! It's so weird. I have no clue how many toys these kids have, but they love water bottles the most!
A couple of months ago my mom bought this little pink bow for Ella. Now that her hair is so thick, I put it up!
Bounce House!
They went in their first bounce house at my Aunt and Uncle's anniversary party. They enjoyed it! (Mostly Tripp)
Tripp and Daddy
And my favorite thing from the past month! Ella started posing. One day she just started hanging out like this. I thought it was hilarious. She still does it every time she's on the floor! It makes me laugh every single time.
