The holidays have come and gone, and I have not even thought about updating this because we've been so busy! The kids are in toddler beds now (really just their cribs with one of the rails taken off), Ella is potty trained, and we celebrated the holidays! Here's a quick little update, but mostly just pictures!
We went to the pumpkin patch!
We celebrated Halloween. The kids were duck, duck and goose :) We went trick or treating with our friends the Westwoods and the Walravens
We took the railings off of the kids' cribs because Emily was climbing out of her crib. We had a few rough weeks of sitting in the room until the kids went to sleep, but we are finally getting back to normal. Emily occasionally jumps out of her bed, but it's getting a lot better!
We went out to the country to Mark's Aunt and Uncle's house to celebrate Nana's birthday. The kids loved it!
We played a lot!
I made brownies and let them lick the beaters
They like to catch each other at the bottom of slides
Emily found a pink cowboy hat and wore it for about 2 weeks straight
They watched Daddy clean a fish
We tried to take a selfie in the car and this is what we got...
Emily LOVES dirt
Tripp and a gorilla
We potty trained Ella the first week of November. She was showing signs that she was ready and I thought it might make my life easier to have 1 potty trained. It's not much easier, but at least we're saving money on diapers!
"cuddling" Ella
Emily will do anything for carrots or apples
Fishing in "Daddy's boat"
Emily worked on her thumbs up for a few days
Watching TV with Gwen
Ella and Gwen
December was the month of cardboard boxes. We ordered a bunch of presents on Amazon!
popcorn is a new favorite snack
Pledge of Allegiance
Again, Emily with her carrots!
Pawpaw (Mark's dad) came home from Iraq and we went to visit him at work. The kids got to run around and sit in airplanes
Emily got her first haircut. It was really thin and uneven, so we just got it trimmed.
Christmas
We started off our Christmas festivities with Zoo Lights
Mark and Ella
Ella discovered her pockets and walked around the zoo with her hands in them!
We went to the Christmas Train in Alvin
We made a gingerbread village
We painted ornaments
Tripp wore a Santa hate everyday just like his Daddy
He also helped Daddy fix the Christmas decorations
The kids got new Christmas pajamas
Ella became obsessed with elves and referred to them all as her friends
We tried on our hats that Nonna made us last year
On Christmas Eve we made cookies to give to our neighbors and the mailman. One of our neighbors, Mr. Nate let the kids pick some of his lemons
Christmas day was lots of fun. We decided to stay home all day so the kids could play with all of their toys. Tripp asked for a Buzz Lightyear and a big truck, Emily asked for Little Einsteins toys and Ella asked for a Barbie. They all got what they asked for! My parents, Alaina and her boyfriend came over for lunch
Tripp in his Woody costume, holding his Buzz Lightyear
Emily got a Jessie costume
They got an easel from Aunt Laina
They got these giant sumo wrestling tubes
Ella got a Sheriff Callie costume
For New Year's Eve Mark got sparklers a few fireworks for the kids. We had lots of fun!
Tripp LOVED the fireworks!
Then we put on pajamas and went to sleep!
Happy New Year!
