San Francisco is full of hills. It's all up or down, and so hard on your legs when you aren't used to it! It was very steep and while ours calves were hurting, it was part of the fun!
The day we got there we just walked around and saw the sights!
The NBA play offs were in full effect and the Houston Rockets were playing the Golden State Warriors. We watched 2 games in pubs in San Francisco and it was tense! Everyone there picked up on the fact that Mark was cheering for the Rockets and we got lots and lots of stares/mean comments!
We rented a convertible and drove across the Golden Gate Bridge to Muir Woods. It was amazing!
One of the things about California that scared me was earthquakes. I was terrified that there would be an earthquake while we were there! Then we went to the beach and saw this sign... I didn't even consider a tsunami!
We went to Alcatraz Penitentiary and Fisherman's Wharf. That was such a fun day!
Facetiming the babies from the island. It was almost bedtime and we didn't want to miss telling them goodnight!
We ate at a restaurant called Boudin in Fisherman's Wharf and saw the Sea Lions. I had macaroni and cheese with crab meat in it. It was delicious!
We saw the Painted Ladies and took a nap in the park across the street
We rode in cable cars. So fun!
We had a whole day with no plans, so we walked around the park at the base of the Golden Gate Bridge
We met a fellow triplet mom who lives in Oakland. We are both part of a Facebook group for Mothers of Triplets born in 2013 (sounds exclusive right? lol) and I was given her name in the Secret Sister exchange this year. I send her and her triplet boys gifts and it's supposed to be a secret, but Amazon outed me shortly before our trip, so we got to meet up for lunch!
We saw the house from Mrs. Doubtfire
The sidewalks and rocks in front of the house were covered in notes about Robin Williams
We visited a tea garden
Coit Tower
Crooked Lombard Street
We Facetimed the kids every morning and every night. They seemed to be having lots of fun without us, but occasionally they would look at the phone and say hello! Here's Emily!
It was such a fun, relaxing trip. We only had 2 days with things scheduled and the rest of the time we just kind of wandered around. It was so great! We are so lucky to have family that is so willing to watch the kids while we celebrate things!
