Here they are with me on their 18 month birthday.
Then they saw the Easter Bunny and I was all "Happy half birthday! Sorry you're traumatized!"
And here they are at 19 months old!
Emily
Emily is a mess! She is so sweet and cuddly, but is also a little turd! She LOVES to stand on the sofa because she knows she isn't supposed to! She will stand up and then say "Sit, sit, sit!" Then she sits and says, "Thank you." These are the things that I tell her when she's up there! She also loves to stand on the sofa and just wait for you to see her. Once you do, she will laugh and giggle and throw herself down into a laying position. This kid is a mess! Emily also knows that when she is in trouble, she can give you a hug and say "Oooohhhhhhhhh" and make you smile. Emily knows that her sister's name is Ella and her brother's name is Tripp. She says "Ella" and "Tripp" all day long, starting as soon as she wakes up in the morning! When she isn't saying their names, she is saying "Ohhhhhhh Doooooeeeeeee." She's dramatic and funny and loves to say her own version of "oh no." She likes to hide something, like her finger, and then in a very serious voice say "Oh Doe," to make you think her finger is gone. Then she will pull it out of it's hiding spot and yell, "There it is!" She recently counted to 10 and even though she left out 6 and 7, we were very impressed! She sings songs that are on TV shows that she watches and also sings "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes." She is very vocal and loves to talk! Her favorite thing to say is Duck and she says it constantly! She is a happy, loving little girl who loves her milk and her siblings! She will randomly run up and hug or kiss one of them, or just hold their hands! She *loves* Little Einsteins and sings the songs when they come on. Emily loves to be "pretty." She sits still to have her hair done and recently let me paint her fingernails and her toenails!
Ella
Ella is goofy and hilarious, but like a typical red-head, she's a little firecracker! She can go from screaming and pitching a fit to dancing around with the biggest smile on her face! She has a temper and lets you know when she's mad. She has started pushing her siblings when she doesn't want them around. This includes when I give them a bowl of snacks that they have to share. Ella doesn't share, so we are working on it! Ella loves to get on the sofa, but her legs are so short, he has a hard time. If there isn't a throw pillow for her to step up on, she will give you a sad face and say, "up." Ella can eat and eat and eat and eat! She isn't too big on drinking milk, but she is always the last one to finish eating because she eats everything! Her favorite thing to eat is any kind of fruit! When she is done with her fruit, she will eat all of Tripp's fruit, because she knows that he won't eat it! She calls Emily "Emmy" and Tripp "Bip." It's adorable! Ella can not stand having her fingernails and toenails cut. Every Friday I cut their nails, and Ella is always last. As soon as the sees the fingernail clippers she runs. I have to chase her and hold her down to trim her nails! Some weeks I don't do it because I just don't have the energy that it takes to do it! So of course, when I made Emily's nails pretty and pink, Ella was curious, but only curious enough to let me paint 1 foot, then she was done! Her feet are a little uneven right now! Ella has to be in the right mood to give her brother and sister hugs or kisses. Occasionally she loves the affection, but other times she will push Emily down if Emily tries to hug her. That's right, she's 3 inches shorter than Emily and Tripp, but she is aggressive! You don't mess with Ella!!!
Tripp
Tripp is still my sweet little cuddle bug! He is saying more words and trying so hard to communicate. He recently started saying hat, head and hand. He likes the H sound! He also sings "Hi Ho, Hi Ho." He's never seen Snow White, but he has a little stuffed dwarf and I sing that song when I see it, so he sings it, too! He's so sweet and loves to give everyone hugs. At their 18 month check up Mark mentioned that he doesn't speak much, so the pedi said we could try giving him some one-on-one time with a relative who isn't me or Mark. He does really well with Mark's mom, Berna, so now she picks him up twice a week and takes him back to her house. They play and read and talk to Pawpaw on Skype. We call it "school" or "speech therapy." He loves it! We wait in the front yard and when he sees Berna's car pull up he starts walking to it and waving bye bye! Tripp loves to dance and be held. He also loves Little Einsteins!
Easter
We had a very fun Easter! The kids hunted eggs and ate SO much candy! They loved opening those little plastic eggs to see what kind of candy or toy they got!
Kemah Boardwalk
The kids love being outside! All they want to do all day long is go in the backyard! Since our backyard gets boring after awhile, we look for cool outdoor places to take them. We've taken them to the Kemah Boardwalk twice now. We let them run around the boardwalk, so we take a Grandma with us when we go so that the adult:kid ration is even!
The first time we went, we had lunch at the Aquarium. We sat right next to a giant fish tank and the kids loved it!
The second time we went, we ate at Bubba Gump's
Tripp played peek-a-boo with his menu
They *loved* running around the boardwalk!
Emmy found a Duck!
Then we took them for their first carousel ride! Emily was scared and only sat on her ostrich for a few seconds.
Ella loved her horse and had so much fun!
Tripp and Emily wanted to sit with us on the bench, so we got a family selfie with Ella and Mimi in the background!
Group Pictures
They've been so affectionate and sweet lately!
We had a coffee party one day
Ella was still eating, even after Mark cleaned off Emily and Tripp's parts of the table. She loves to eat!
Tripp did NOT want to share his ice cream with me!
Ella loves to have a purse. Nonna got the girls these little purses when she was on her cruise, and Ella walks around with it on her shoulder. If she has a phone in one hand, that's even better!
These kids love to look at this picture of their cousin Ainsley sitting on a swing with them! The girls say "Ainsley" when they look at it!
Ainsley left her phone at our house one day. It was the favorite toy in our house!
Emily is a very messy ice cream eater!
This is Ella when the Chicken Dance song comes on. She loves it!
These silly girls decided to lay on the kitchen floor. Just for fun... never a dull moment!
They love their fake oven mit and love to pretend to cook. They even pretend to wash their hands in the little sink on their kitchen!
Ella loved her new headband!
And her sunglasses!
Emily REALLY enjoyed this cupcake at Blake and Addison's birthday party. She was covered in frosting when we left!
Like I said, they love being outside, so we spend lots of time in the backyard or going to parks!
The girls steal Tripp's cool boy toys, but he is a good sport and doesn't mind playing with pink toys. Not yet, at least!
He mows the lawn when we're in the front yard
And finally, this is my life with 3 toddlers. There is always someone who has climbed too high and at least 1 kid who won't look at the camera!
