First Birthday zoo trip

On Tuesday, Their actual birthday, we took the babies to the zoo for the first time.  It was their birthday and wanted to do something fun and special with them.  Mark's parents followed us up there and my mom met us later.  We had a picnic in the zoo and then saw some animals.  Emily and Tripp *loved* it!  Ella... not so much.  She is her mother's daughter and did not like the sun or the people or being outside in general :)  Here are some pictures that we took.  They are mostly of Emily and Tripp since Ella was not getting in on the fun!

They started out in the wagon. It didn't last long!

Our picnic

Emily wanted to chase birds

Mimi and Ella.  This is when she decided she didn't like the zoo.

Tripp loved the petting zoo.  He wanted to touch all of the animals!

Emily loved sitting on this thing!

I know what you're thinking... Where was Ella during all of this?  Here she is...

Emily loves to show people that she is ONE

This is me walking fast to get Ella to the air conditioned aquarium!

Again, Tripp and Emily loved the aquarium!  ...Ella, of course, did not.

We got Ella ice cream and then we went into the gift shop. Ella was a totally different baby once we were in the gift shop. She was laughing and smiling and picked out this elephant pillow!

She was happy to leave the zoo!

Emily and me waiting to get on the train

Ella was loving the train, or loving that we were no longer at the zoo... Who knows!

After a long day at the zoo, we finished it off with cup cakes!

Then right before bed Tripp was walking really well and getting confident and then he fell.  He landed right at the hinge of one of the baby gates so now he has this giant red mark on his forehead!

Then we all went to sleep!  I think I was asleep by 7:30 and so were the babies!
