We had an ultrasound on Thursday and they are so big! A is 2 pounds 13 ounces, B is 2 pounds 15 ounces, and C is 2 pounds 8 ounces. That's more than 8 pounds of baby in there! I think it's crazy that C is the smallest now. Not that she's letting that get in her way! She is in charge in there. She doesn't like being on her own side of my belly, so she usually isn't. She really likes being in her brothers spot, so that pushes him over to my side. He spends about half of every day on the side of my body. I can feel his head way over there and it's very weird. During the ultrasound we could barely see him because she was kind of lying on top of him. When we were looking at his head, we could see her legs right there next to his face. I'm waiting for our poor guy to fight back, but I think he'll be fine since he is the biggest. Baby A is doing great on the bottom. I'm not too worried about her being on the bottom anymore because she's growing really well. She was opening and closing her mouth, and then sucking on her thumb. It was so cute! So all of the babies are doing great! B had more fluid in his sac and a doctor came in to tell us all of the horrible things that that could mean, but we saw my doctor afterward and she said it should be fine, some babies just have more fluid. She'll just keep an eye on it, but she wasn't very concerned. We got some pictures of them, but it's very hard to make out what is in each picture. They're just so big and crowded so we can no longer get pictures of each individual baby.
When C does decide to stay on her own side, this is what my belly looks like
The babies are most active in the evening. It's so fun to just lay there and watch my belly going crazy. Mark is always home at that time so he gets to sit there and feel them moving, too. This is him singing to the babies. They really liked it and they were kicking even more!
My doctor did say that I am full term size, so that's kind of cool. My contractions are getting a lot more intense, but still bearable. I'm spending more time laying down and that seems to be helping. I passed my glucose test, but I'm anemic, so I just have to take some iron pills. About a week ago I realized that I haven't read any baby books about what to do after they're born so now I'm reading a book about how to sleep train multiples. One of my fears is that they won't all sleep at the same time, and then we won't get any sleep, but the book has lots of information about how to avoid that.
After our next appointment we are going to get to tour the NICU in the Pavilion and I'm very excited about that! I've heard and read about it, but I'm very excited to actually see it!
We've done a lot around the house in the last 2 weeks. Here are the extra cabinets that Mark and his dad installed in our kitchen.
We asked Mark's Aunt Terry to make the crib skirts and she brought them over yesterday. She didn't just bring the crib skirts, though! She made the skirts, embroidered pillows and 2 diaper stackers. It all looks so amazing! She is also going to make the valance for the window, and after that, the nursery will be done! I took some pictures, but it's very hard to take pictures of a room with 3 cribs and a dresser in it. So these are the best I could do:
(The wire from the camera will be hidden so the babies can't pull on it or anything)
Mark is also preparing by putting all of the little things together. Here he is trying out the baby carrier!
