30 weeks

Today marks 30 weeks.  It is very exciting!  We saw the nurse practitioner today and everything is looking great.  She did an ultrasound in the room to check their heart rates and they're doing great.  C was lying on top of B again, but we still got to see him.  I didn't think there was room in there for them to rotate at all, but somehow A has completely flipped so that she is now breech and B's head is now where his feet were 2 weeks ago.  Also, we got to see that B has hair and C has fat rolls on her neck.  It was very cute!  I'm hoping the girls also have hair, but if they don't, we will still love our bald daughters!  And hopefully they all have fat rolls when they're born.  We want fat, healthy babies!  Our next growth ultrasound is in 2 weeks and my mom and Kirt are going to come with us!  Kirt has never been to one and my mom hasn't been to an ultrasound since the very first one, which was an exciting one, but she hasn't seen them since they've started looking like actual babies, so I can't wait!

During the day I'm entertained by the babies, even though they aren't here yet.  They're getting so big that I can actually feel body parts when I'm touching my belly, so during the day I rub my belly and try to figure out what body part I'm feeling and which baby it belongs to.  They move so much now.  Here are a few weird pictures I've gotten of my belly.

This is C pushing out at the very top

I think this is a butt sticking out

This is B pushing out

After our appointment today we got to tour the NICU in the Pavilion and it was awesome!  We saw a room with triplets in it!  The parents were in there and I wanted to go and talk to them, but I figured that would be inappropriate.  The rooms are so nice.  We can sleep in the room and they have showers so the nurse giving us the tour said we could live there if we wanted to. Unfortunately it is only a level 3 NICU, so if the babies need level 1, 2, or 4 care, they will be transferred to Texas Children's.  Also, the Pavilion only has 33 NICU rooms, so if they don't have room for the babies, they will have to go to TCH.  I'm hoping it all works out.

My contractions are getting worse at night.  I'm not sure why, but the last few nights have been pretty bad.  I feel bad because Mark usually wakes up because I'm making so much noise.  I was concerned that I might be dilating or something, but I'm not.  I described the contractions to the nurse practitioner today and she said its just my pelvic bones starting to separate.  WHAT???  I made her repeat that information to make sure she was saying what I thought she was saying.  She said it can be very painful.  I was like, yes, I know, trust me.  I'm getting very big, but people keep telling me I'm not as big as they would expect.  The nurse that gave us the NICU tour was shocked that I was walking at 30 weeks with triplets.  It's hard to walk for too long, but I'm doing fine with it since I don't walk very much.  I still like to do things on my own when I can. Here is my belly at 30 weeks!  It's kind of oddly shaped in this picture because C was moving and A was kind of high up there.

We have the car seats set up in the van.  We have to get them inspected to make sure they're installed correctly, but they're very cute!

Mark's Aunt Terry made us canopies for the car seats.  I have a coworker who had her baby at 35 weeks and she said that having a canopy over the car seat typically keeps strangers from randomly touching her baby, so I decided we need them because I don't want strangers touching my babies.  Terry brought the canopies over today and they are adorable!

She also brought over the valance that she made and it is perfect!  The nursery is finally done!!!

I've started organizing all of their clothes and we have a lot!  I love washing their clothes and folding them.  It's one of the few things that I can do sitting down and I like to be able to help Mark get everything ready.  He does so much on his own since I can't move much, and I like to pitch in when I can.  I've also washed the cloth diapers and liners and organized those.  I had to order more because I realized we only had 30, so after this last order comes in, we should have about 80 diapers.  That should last us about 2 1/2 days, which will be perfect.  While I was searching for good deals on cloth diapers, I found cow print ones and well, I couldn't NOT buy them, so each baby has a cow print diaper!  They are my favorite!

I will end this post with my favorite Mark picture of the past 2 weeks.  He walked outside and said, "Look!  We can carry all 3 babies at the same time!"

28 weeks

We have made it to 28 weeks!  Hopefully we have at lease 6 weeks left.  Mark is predicting that they will be born on September 17, so we'll see what happens! It's starting to get really close and I'm getting very anxious.  I just want to see who they'll look like and get to know them face to face, but until then, I wait (not so) patiently between our growth ultrasounds so I can see them!

We had an ultrasound on Thursday and they are so big!  A is 2 pounds 13 ounces, B is 2 pounds 15 ounces, and C is 2 pounds 8 ounces.  That's more than 8 pounds of baby in there!  I think it's crazy that C is the smallest now.  Not that she's letting that get in her way!  She is in charge in there.  She doesn't like being on her own side of my belly, so she usually isn't.  She really likes being in her brothers spot, so that pushes him over to my side.  He spends about half of every day on the side of my body.  I can feel his head way over there and it's very weird.  During the ultrasound we could barely see him because she was kind of lying on top of him.  When we were looking at his head, we could see her legs right there next to his face.  I'm waiting for our poor guy to fight back, but I think he'll be fine since he is the biggest.  Baby A is doing great on the bottom.  I'm not too worried about her being on the bottom anymore because she's growing really well.  She was opening and closing her mouth, and then sucking on her thumb.  It was so cute!  So all of the babies are doing great!  B had more fluid in his sac and a doctor came in to tell us all of the horrible things that that could mean, but we saw my doctor afterward and she said it should be fine, some babies just have more fluid.  She'll just keep an eye on it, but she wasn't very concerned.  We got some pictures of them, but it's very hard to make out what is in each picture.  They're just so big and crowded so we can no longer get pictures of each individual baby.

When C does decide to stay on her own side, this is what my belly looks like

The babies are most active in the evening.  It's so fun to just lay there and watch my belly going crazy. Mark is always home at that time so he gets to sit there and feel them moving, too.  This is him singing to the babies.  They really liked it and they were kicking even more!

My doctor did say that I am full term size, so that's kind of cool.  My contractions are getting a lot more intense, but still bearable.  I'm spending more time laying down and that seems to be helping.  I passed my glucose test, but I'm anemic, so I just have to take some iron pills.  About a week ago I realized that I haven't read any baby books about what to do after they're born so now I'm reading a book about how to sleep train multiples.  One of my fears is that they won't all sleep at the same time, and then we won't get any sleep, but the book has lots of information about how to avoid that.

After our next appointment we are going to get to tour the NICU in the Pavilion and I'm very excited about that!  I've heard and read about it, but I'm very excited to actually see it!

We've done a lot around the house in the last 2 weeks.  Here are the extra cabinets that Mark and his dad installed in our kitchen.

We asked Mark's Aunt Terry to make the crib skirts and she brought them over yesterday.  She didn't just bring the crib skirts, though!  She made the skirts, embroidered pillows and 2 diaper stackers.  It all looks so amazing!  She is also going to make the valance for the window, and after that, the nursery will be done!  I took some pictures, but it's very hard to take pictures of a room with 3 cribs and a dresser in it.  So these are the best I could do:

(The wire from the camera will be hidden so the babies can't pull on it or anything)

Mark is also preparing by putting all of the little things together.  Here he is trying out the baby carrier!
