Not much has been going on over here. I am still being entertained by my hilarious husband and crazy dogs! Here is what's happened in the past few weeks.
We got all dressed up and went to a wedding.
We saw The Hunger Games! We've both read the book (Mark is on the 2nd one) and we were very excited to see the movie. I woke up on Thursday morning, the day we were going to see it, to this "silver parachute" hanging in the kitchen with a note that was signed Peeta. In the book, they send silver parachutes into the arena with supplies, so it was very fitting!! The movie was really good. It actually stuck to the book, which I wasn't expecting. I was not disappointed!!
The next morning we woke up and went to Froberg's with Berna, Rachel, Colton and Ainsley to pick strawberries. It was fun, but muddy. That did not stop Mark and Colton, though. They walked right through the mud, both wearing sandals.
Rachel did not want them to dirty up their new truck, so she got a bag that you put vegetables in for Colton to wear on his feet. (Mark said his weren't that dirty... right...)
It was lots of fun. The strawberries were delicious!!
Then that night we went over to Berna's for dinner. Ainsley kept blowing out the candles that were supposed to be keeping the mosquitos away, so we went inside and lit all of the candles we could find, and then she blew them out. She did this about 12 times...
This past weekend we went to my little sister's last competition as a Dobie Lariaette (and Mark's last as a member of the Curtain Crew, or a "daddy" as the drill director refers to them. One time she yelled out that she needed a daddy to help her move a prop so Mark stuck his head out from between two curtains and said, "How about a brother-in-law?" She does not think he's as funny as the rest of us do!). They did so great! My mom and Kirt said they won 1st place in 9 out of 10 dances and they won all kinds of Grand Championships.
This weekend she and my parents are going to San Marcos so that she can try out for the Texas State Strutters, their drill team. She'll do great, I'm sure of it!
Edward-isms
If you're reading this, then surely you know about Edward. He is the funniest dog I have ever met and one of the cutest! He and Mark are so in love, it's a little disturbing. Anytime Mark sits down anywhere, Edward has to snuggle in really close to him. So anyway, onto the funny/weird things that he does...
In our living room, the dogs are always sitting on the sofa. Bella likes to cuddle up under a quilt and Edward sits and watches the cat. Well lately, he's been sitting like this:
He straddles the arm of the sofa and faces away from everything. He stares at the dining room table just like this. We don't know what he's doing, but I'm pretty sure he's up to no good, like always.
Also, he loves water. Bella is terrified of water, and Edward just wants to be in it. So Mark had the sprinkler on in the backyard last weekend and Edward ran for it! He had just been groomed and still smelled like the perfume they put on him and was still fluffy, and then he looked like this:
He is such a mess!!
And the there is his tennis ball. His beloved tennis ball. Wherever Edward is in the house, his tennis ball is somewhere near. He likes it because it's a regular sized tennis ball, and Bella can't get her mouth around it to steal it from him like all of the other dog toys, so he's the only one who can play with it. At least I think that's why he loves it so much. Anyway, we sometimes find him laying around the house with the tennis ball under his arm or right at his nose.
Mark decided to write his name on it, so that he knows it's his (we know, they're just dogs, but they're our children!) so it's pretty funny to see him carrying this around the house with him:
He was mad at me for positioning the ball for the picture and he tried to snap it away from me, but I told him to sit, so he laid there just staring at it.
I love the Ryan Gosling "Hey Girl" pictures that are floating around the internet and I often get excited about a funny one and show Mark. The other night, Edward was laying next to us on the bed and Mark started saying (in his Edward voice), "Hey Girl..." and then random funny lines. So we decided to do a few Hey Girls of Edward:
(Yes, Mark really did put gel in his hair.)
That's all we have so far!
Oh, and since I don't take many pictures of Bella, here is one! She just doesn't do very many funny things. She mostly just likes to cuddle and lick everything in sight!
